Josh Stewart — Co-Founder, Youth Sports Program Director

Former NCAA & NFL Wide Receiver | Youth Advocate | Champion for Inclusive Sports

Josh Stewart’s journey from Friday night lights in Denton, Texas, to the national stage is a testament to resilience, grit, and the power of belief. At Guyer High School in Denton, TX, Josh dominated games on both sides of the field as a stand-out wide receiver and shut-down cornerback. He earned First-Team All-District and All-Area honors, and was named Offensive MVP, setting the tone for a remarkable career.

At Oklahoma State University, Stewart quickly became one of the Big 12’s most dynamic offensive weapons. Across three seasons (2011–2013), he hauled in 123 receptions for 1,640 yards and 7 touchdowns, led the Cowboys in receptions in both 2012 and 2013, and was a 2012 All-Big 12 selection. Known for his sure hands and explosive yards-after-catch ability, Stewart also made his mark as a punt return specialist, racking up 470 career punt return yards, including multiple game-changing plays that electrified fans and teammates alike. His collegiate success earned him national recognition from ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and more, ultimately paving his path to the NFL with the Tennessee Titans.

But for Stewart, the heart of his story begins and ends with family. Raised by his parents, Charles and Valerie Stewart, in a household grounded in love, discipline, and faith, Josh learned early on that perseverance is built from a strong foundation at home.

Today, as a proud father of four boys — Kayson (12), Ayden (7), Manson (6), and Henley (3) — he credits fatherhood as the driving force behind his mission to open doors for the next generation of athletes.

Josh Stewart: “Family is everything to me. My parents taught me to work hard, stay humble, and believe in myself — lessons I’m now passing on to my boys and to every young athlete I mentor. Every young person deserves to feel that someone believes in them—whether they’re chasing a scholarship, a roster spot, or just the joy of playing. Talent should never be limited by where you come from.”

Through NextGen United Champions Sports Foundation, which he co-founded alongside Dr. Christopher Khoury, Stewart is committed to dismantling the systemic barriers that keep underrepresented youth from participating in sports. From providing equipment and mentorship to shaping programs that foster inclusion, Stewart’s efforts are designed to ensure that talent, heart, and determination—not background or circumstance—determine opportunity.

Dr. Christopher Khoury: “Josh’s impact goes beyond the scoreboard. His authenticity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to young people make him an extraordinary role model — not just for athletes, but for anyone chasing a dream.”

Whether he’s coaching youth teams, leading community outreach, speaking to students about perseverance, or strategizing new ways to expand access to sports, Stewart’s message is unwavering: Greatness begins with belief—and every young athlete deserves a chance to shine.
